What is a gimbal?
A gimbal is a battery-operated device that uses motors and sensors to help correct for unintentional wobbles while you move your camera around one of three axes: pitch, roll, or yaw.
If you want to capture smooth and shake-free video footage while hand-holding your camera on the move, a gimbal can help you to achieve that.
Gimbals are available for smartphones, action cams, mirrorless cameras and DSLRs.
Why use a gimbal?
There are many ways to get a smooth shot, so why choose a gimbal?
Today’s YouTubers and content creators often film on the go, so using a Steadicam or a dolly when you’re traveling is not always practical.
Gimbals are lightweight and compact and will give you a smooth shot almost everywhere you use them.
This makes them ideal for run-and-gun filmmakers who can’t or don’t want to set up all of that extra gear.
How beginners can use a gimbal?
1. Please assemble the gimbal first, then install the camera/mobile phone.
For the installation video, please click HERE to watch (Find your gimbal model and then click the installation video)
2. Balance the three axes of the gimbal.
Note: When the gimbal is not leveled, please do not open the gimbal, which may cause the gimbal to rotate randomly.
For the leveling video, please click HERE to watch (Find your gimbal model and then click the leveling video)
3. After balancing, turn on the gimbal, and then adjust the gimbal strength adaptively.
This step will allow the gimbal motor to adjust to the strength of your camera (the mobile phone gimbal does not need this step).
Use Motor Auto Tune Button or choose Auto Tune in motor power settings on Feiyu APP to tune the motor power automatically according to the camera you install.
Auto Tune operation: Put gimbal on the table, start the motor power tuning progress through Motor Auto Tune Button or Feiyu APP, and wait for the progress complete.
Note: It's a normal phenomenon that gimbal will vibrate slightly while Auto Tune to weigh the camera.
